In recent years the National Experimental Chorus has been extremely active on the international musical scene, with invitation to sing in Korean World Choral Festival at Seoul Arts Center in 1990; four concerts in Singapore and Malaysia in 1993; and the World Festival of Choirs at Atlanta, Georgia in 1991 and 1994; three concerts at the Taipei Theater, New York City in 1995. Other performances include tours of Australia, New Zealand and Canada. The chorus had performed with the New York Philharmonic and has worked with artists such as Domingo and Carreras. In its native Taiwan, the group makes regular appearances at the National Concert Hall, in collaboration with the Taiwan National Symphony.
The chorus has an extensive repertoire, ranging from Chinese folksongs and art songs from every province to motets, masses, operas in concert performance, staged operas and oratorios.
On this tour the chorus is especially presenting the Taiwanese folk songs and the Taiwanese aboriginal music in its vivid style to introduce the unique Taiwanese traditional musical culture to the American audience.
